Paramore - SCS 2008 and More!

2008 was one of the biggest and best sets of Summer Concert Series 95.5 WBRU has ever had. In August I had the pleasure of interviewing Paramore before their show at Providence Piers. Of course, do I have the audio? No. Instead, I offer an excellent live version of Paramore's Misery Business performed on WBRU in 2007.

Here's Paramore's lovely Hayley Williams enjoying Rhode Island's finest - An Awful Awful

Warped Tour 2008 - Random Shots

Here are some random crowd shots and other band pics. Sadly, I can't remember at this point which band these guys belong too...kind of embarrassing. If you have any idea, please leave a comment so I can properly attribute them.

Do you know these drummers?!?!

I would guess that this is All Time Low, but it's hard to be sure since these pics are old now. I tried looking up current pics of the band but still hard to be sure.

Warped Tour 2008 - The Academy Is...

Photo by Chas Crandon (A selection of photos in the Warped Tour 2008 section can be attributed to him, most likely the ones in which I am in the photo. Thanks Chas!)

We planned to meet The Academy Is at their bus, but their flight was delayed. Really nice of them to reschedule after their set. While we were waiting, we did find Katy Perry's bus...a little creepy a picture of her spans the entire side of the bus...

Warped Tour 2008 - Say Anything

An amazing turn of events here. Korzec and I were supposed to interview Say Anything. We didn't realize it was supposed to be more of a press conference with a bunch of people, because when we ran into them we just hit it off and started the interview. I no longer have the audio, hopefully Korz does at least for his own enjoyment and memories.

And then the set. Say Anything's Max Bemis has never failed to put on a good show that I've seen. As for the crowd, I don't know if they're always insane or that was just the Palladium in Worcester, MA.

Warped Tour 2008 - Ludo

I unfortunately cannot find the MP3 of my interview with Ludo and it is no longer featured on WBRU.com. Never fear, there is photographic evidence.

Posting for Posterity

As a potential new media professional, I have decided I need to practice working on various platforms. Since I have this blog from a course I took in college, I decided I would put it to good use by posting old band photos I have taken over the years. In another life, I worked at 95.5 WBRU-FM in Providence, RI as GQ, the afternoon DJ and assistant program director. My work there gave me great opportunities to attend shows, so I have a bevy of pictures that I personally took. I will try to figure out how to post any accompanying interviews with photos but that may be for when I am more advanced.

If for any reason a band or person is depicted that does not want the photo to be publicly displayed, please let me know and I will remove it. These were taken personally, so there is no copy right issue and I ask that if the photos are used, GQ of 95.5 WBRU is credited. Thank you and bear with me.
